About
Many individuals and families struggle to make ends meet in the Bay Area, and some of them cannot afford enough food for themselves or their children. The San Leandro Community Food Pantry is a group of dedicated volunteers who want to end hunger in our community. In 2013 we started small, serving about 50 clients. In 2017 we picked up, weighed, sorted, and distributed 400,000 pounds of food to more than 39,000 clients and their family members.
Food Pantry
Special hours and procedures during COVID-19 shelter-in-place: Every Thursday from 5-7:30 pm, the SL Community Food Pantry maintains an outdoor food pickup station at Bethel Presbyterian Church to distribute food. Click here for more information.
Volunteer
The SL Community Food Pantry is a 100% volunteer organization. About 20-25 volunteers support the distribution every week, and approximately 80% of our volunteers also get food from the pantry. Come volunteer with us!
